In its December 2013 issue, MarineLog Magazine features and identifies Hayata chief, Tom Crouch, as one of the "Key Thought Leaders" of the industry. The article highlights Hayata's success using revolutionary technology for banding and tagging operations.

Dallas, TX – Hayata Ltd, an industry leader in embossed stainless steel tags, has announced a new outputting service that produces and ships embossed barcoded metal tags within 24 hours of order placement.

Until now, embossed metal tags were limited to alpha/numeric characters which required workers to grasp and read for information – often with great difficulty depending on field conditions. With Hayata’s embossed barcoded tags, workers can use a simple hand-held scanner to read a barcoded tag and get clear, instant information on that item.

Hayata offers an exclusive 24-Hour barcode service where customers email their tag data and Hayata outputs and ships the order within 24 hours on regular business days. This service is also available for standard embossed tags, which allows customers to avoid the tedious process of manually outputting tags, maintaining embossing equipment and keeping an inventory of tags.

For facilities with marker plans for power cables, pipes, valves and other industrial applications requiring long-term marking, the barcoded tags provide a safer longer-term solution.

According to Hayata President Tom Crouch, the embossed barcoded tags offer several significant advantages. “Barcodes can contain more information than standard alpha/numeric tags, so inspectors or repair crews can get more details off the tagged items.” He adds, “Embossed stainless steel tags can be read long-term no matter how harsh the operating conditions. Even if the tag is accidently covered with 2 or 3 coats of paint, the barcodes can still be read by the scanner.”

Dallas, Texas – Hayata, the industry leader in stainless steel banding and cable ties, has introduced the Hammerhead CT-7. This easy-to-use manually operated tool is designed to make stainless steel cable tie installation more efficient while lowering total cost of ownership.

The Hayata Hammerhead CT-7 has a distinctive look, which is highlighted by its flat heavy-duty “hammerhead” nose that can be used to hammer down a cable tie head or tail if required. The CT-7 features a lightweight design that reduces overall installer fatigue, easy loading and unloading, heavy-duty zinc-plated construction for maximum corrosion resistance and easy one-hand operation.

According to Hayata president Tom Crouch, the CT-7 was inspired by observing several installers at a job site. “We noticed the installers using their ratchet tools to awkwardly hammer down ties after installation, which led to their tool having a shorter service life.” He added, “The CT-7 gives them a flat hammering surface which reduces awkward motion and premature wear on the tool.”

With its larger capacity, Hayata’s new facility allows for an increase of on-the-ground inventory, helping expedite customer deliveries in the Asian-Pacific region. Tom Crouch, founder and President of Hayata, states, “We are always looking for ways to improve our processes and this new facility is a big step in that direction. Adding inventory in the region increases our ability to make deliveries in a quicker, more efficient manner for our customers.”

Just off Alaska’s North Slope sits Spy Island, home to the offshore production site of Eni Petroleum’s Nikaitchuq Project. Recently, the installation of a new metering module at the site required nearly 12 miles of 15kv rated power cable to be attached to a pipeline running the length of the island. The scope of this project, combined with the environmental rigors of the oil patch, meant this would be no small task. Contracting engineers contacted Hayata to discuss their options and soon a bulk order of Hayata’s stainless steel cable banding was on its way to Spy Island. Durable and corrosion resistant, Hayata’s stainless steel bands successfully secured the cable to the pipe in five foot
intervals over the entire 12 mile length.
