ABS EU RO Mutual Recognition
Hayata was the first company to achieve ABS EU RO Mutual Recognition for Stainless Steel Cable Ties & Banding Products. To achieve ABS EU RO Mutual Recognition (EU RO MR) Type Approval, Hayata had to satisfy three key areas: product eligibility for the EU RO MR scheme, applicable EU RO technical design and our manufacturing/quality system must be approved and maintained. Being ISO 9001:2015-certifed and having our TBC Roller Ball Ties achieve IEC 60068-2-6 were contributing factors in this process.
By achieving ABS EU RO, Hayata has made it clear our cable ties are the highest -quality you can buy, and are backed by outstanding customer service. In accordance with Article 10 of Regulation (EC) No 391/2009 of the European Parliament, these products are now mutually recognized by the following “Common Rules and Standards For Ship Inspection and Survey Organizations”:
- Bureau Veritas (BV)
- China Classification Society (CCS)
- Croation Register of Shipping (CRS)
- DNV GL
- Indian Register or Shipping (IRS)
- Korean Register (KR)
- Lloyds Register Group (LR)
- Nippon Kaiji Kyokai General Incorporated Foundation (Class NK)
- Polish Register of Shipping (PRS)
- RINA Services S.p.A (RINA)
- Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RS)
Hayata’s Products are now mutually certified by the above Survey Organizations with intended Marine Offshore Application being -Indoor/Outdoor Bundle Cables in and out of cable tray.

What’s the big deal about ABS Certification?
ABS is important to contractor’s because it provides independent assurance that the equipment or components being installed are suitable for the intended marine or offshore application. Some manufacturers say they have ABS when, in reality, they don’t. With Hayata, you can always be sure our ABS Certifications are up to date and searchable for verification.
Hayata’s President, Tom Crouch, walks you through the ABS certification process and why it’s important for your project’s success.
FAQ
Q: What is a roller ball tie?
A: A roller ball tie is a type of stainless steel cable tie that locks by means of a small ball inside the tie head.
When you pull the stainless steel strap through the head, the ball rolls freely in the tightening direction. If the strap tries to back out, the ball wedges between the strap and the inside of the head, creating a strong mechanical lock.
This design gives roller ball ties several advantages:
- They install quickly
- No separate buckle
- Provide high tensile strength
- Hold up well in heat, UV, chemicals, salt spray, and corrosive environments.
This is why they are so commonly used in marine, offshore, mining, transportation, industrial and cable-management applications.
Roller Ball Ties are different from a stainless steel tooth nylon tie. A tooth-lock nylon tie uses a stainless steel barb or tooth embedded in a nylon head to engage the nylon strap. A roller ball tie is normally all stainless steel, and the locking mechanism is the ball inside the metal head.
Q: What certifications do Hayata Roller Ball Ties have?
A: Our Roller Ball Ties come in 4 tensile strengths. Our 225 Lb,.475 Lb and 525 Lb ties are ABS, cULus, DNV & Lloyd’s certified. Our 1000 Lb ties are ABS and cULus certified.
Q: Where are Hayata’s stainless steel Roller Ball Ties manufactured?
A: At our manufacturing facility in Texas.
