Stainless Steel Cable Cleats
Hayata’s Cable Cleats are the first line of defense to protect people, other cables in the tray, terminations and the overall system installation in the event of a violent short circuit event. These heavy-duty IEC 61914:2021-certified mechanical restraints are easy to install and securely hold flat or trefoil power cable arrangements in position. These cleats are also approved by DNV GL (Det Norske Veritas) and CE.
Hayata’s Cable Cleats offers these design features:
- Evenly distributes clamping force
- No sharp edges helps prevent cable jacket damage
- Accommodates thermal expansion and contraction
- Resists slipping
- Mitigates damage to the cable jacket under fault forces
- Available in single & trefoil
- IEC 61914-2021, DNV and CE certified

Hayata Cable Cleats Frequently Asked Questions
When should cable cleats be used?
Cable cleats are used instead of a cable tie when the cable needs to be mechanically restrained, not merely organized, secured or bundled.
The biggest distinction is what happens during a short-circuit fault. Large power cables can experience enormous electromagnetic forces that try to make the cables jump, separate, twist or whip. Hayata’s cable cleats are designed to hold cables in position under those forces. A normal cable tie, generally, is not.
Typical applications where you would choose a cable cleat:
- Medium- or high-voltage power cables, especially with large conductors.
- Single-core AC cables installed in trefoil or flat formation.
- High short-circuit-current systems, where fault forces can be extreme.
- Vertical cable runs, where the support must carry a significant amount of cable weight.
- Applications requiring compliance with standards such as IEC 61914, which specifically certifies cable cleats for their ability to withstand electromechanical forces.
In what industries are cable cleats used?
Industrial, mining, offshore, marine, utility and data-center installations where cable restraint is safety-critical.
What style of cable cleats does Hayata offer?
Single and trefoil.
What certifications do Hayata cable cleats have?
IEC 61914:2021, CE and DNV GL (Det Norske Veritas).
.
What materials are used in Hayata cable cleats?
The frames are made of marine-grade, non-magnetic 316L stainless steel, while the cleat pad material is made from low smoke, halogen-free polyolefin.
Is a mounting bolt included with each cleat?
Yes.
What knd of closing hardware is included?
A 316L stainless steel M6, M8, M10 or M12 bolt and a nylon lock nut.
